Who We Are

Hilltop Opportunity Partners (“HOP”) is the merchant banking division of Hilltop Holdings (NYSE: HTH).

HOP utilizes Hilltop Holdings’ excess capital to employ a flexible, lower middle-market investment strategy addressing a variety of capital needs.

Target investments range from $5 million to $25 million and can be structured both short duration and long duration, depending on the needs of the potential partner. Larger or smaller opportunities are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Investment Criteria

We provide lower middle-market companies with tailored solutions to meet a variety of capital needs. Across a range of time horizons, sectors and capital structures, we target non-control investments in companies facing an inflection point and seeking capital and strategic resources.

HOP also seeks investment opportunities with companies in industries of strategic interest to the broader Hilltop Holdings organization (e.g., Fintech). By leveraging Hilltop’s strategic insight and position as a value added partner, HOP seeks to create value for companies it invests in beyond simply filling a capital need.
